Overview
6-axis collaborative robot arm with 16 kg payload and 900 mm reach, the heaviest-payload model of UR's e-Series generation on the CB5 controller. IP54, any-orientation mounting, force-torque sensor at the flange; aimed at heavy tooling, multi-part handling, palletizing and machine tending. Sold only through UR distributors; UR publishes no list price.

- Control box I/O: 16 DI, 16 DO, 2 AI, 2 AO, 4 quadrature inputs; protocols Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET / PROFIsafe, ROS/ROS2; 23 configurable safety functions per the datasheet (UR's product page says 21).
- Weight 33.1 kg including cable (datasheet and UR product page); one reseller (roboticscenter.ai) also shows a net weight of 18 kg and 350 W average power, which the datasheet does not support and is not used.
- UR's e-Series list (fetched 2026-10-17) shows the UR16e as 'UR16e' on product page /products/ur16e-cb5/ with no rename or successor note, unlike the UR5e (now UR7e) and UR10e (now UR12e); the newer UR15 (15 kg, 1300 mm reach) is a separate model, not a documented replacement.
- Launched 17 September 2019 (IEEE Spectrum, fetched 2026-10-17); UR gave no price at launch, only 'about 10% above the UR10e'.
