Overview
TIAGo is PAL Robotics' modular ROS-based mobile manipulator for research and service-robotics labs: a wheeled base (differential or optional omnidirectional), a lifting torso, a pan-tilt head with RGB-D camera and a 7-DoF arm that carries 3 kg. It can be ordered without an arm, with one arm or with two, with standard or series-elastic (SEA) arms, and with a choice of grippers or a force/torque wrist sensor. Runs Ubuntu with ROS; PAL also sells premium software (advanced grasping, navigation, whole-body control).

Key facts
- Specs come from PAL's TIAGo datasheet PDF (pal-robotics.com/datasheet/tiago/, fetched 2026-10-17): 110-145 cm height (torso lift 35 cm), 70 kg, o54 cm footprint, arm payload 3 kg at full extension (without end-effector), reach 87 cm, 1.5 m/s, Wi-Fi 6, 36 V 20 Ah battery, 4-5 h on one battery and 8-10 h on two.
- Height 145 cm is the maximum (torso raised); the page gives 110-145 cm. Battery energy of 720 Wh is calculated from the published 36 V x 20 Ah; PAL does not state watt-hours. The 4.5 h runtime is the midpoint of the published 4-5 h for one battery.
- DoF: the datasheet table gives torso 1, mobile base 2, arm 7 per arm (0 to 2 arms), head 2, so 12 for single arm, 5 for LITE and 19 for the dual-arm version; these are sums of those published values. Weight of 70 kg is quoted once for the family; whether it applies to every configuration is not stated, so LITE and dual-arm weights are left empty.
- The datasheet PDF still lists older options (Hey5 hand, Jetson TX2 add-on) that differ from the current web page (2F-85/140, ePick, SEA arms, Jetson accessory); the web page is newer. Datasheet is indoor-use only. IP rating and temperature range are not published.
- Premium software is sold separately: Advanced Grasping, Advanced Navigation, Whole Body Control, Visual Programming, Animation Interface, face perception.
- PAL describes TIAGo as 'over 9 years in the market' (page text); no launch year is stated, so year_available is empty. The page also names a newer TIAGo Pro / TIAGo Pro Arm ecosystem, a separate product line not documented here; TIAGo Base, TIAGo OMNI Base and TIAGo Head are separate items on the page.
- Price: PAL publishes none ('Request a quote'). No reseller listing with a price was found.
- Spec source: all numbers come from the datasheet PDF (differential base). The current web page offers a differential or omnidirectional base and 'no arms, or up to 2 arms'; the product image shows an omnidirectional base. The LITE and ++ variants are from the datasheet PDF and a news item naming 'TIAGo and TIAGo++', not described as configurations on the product page.
- open_source is set to false: the page says TIAGo is ROS-based with an open-source simulation, but does not say the robot software is open source.
