Overview
Kinova's industrial six-axis cobot, built in Quebec for machine tending, small-parts assembly, kitting, packaging, inspection, welding and polishing. Built-in six-axis force/torque sensor, +/-360 degree range on every joint, feed-through of power and data to the end effector (up to 4 A at 24 V) and a multi-use wrist with a coloured ring annunciator. No-code visual programming, hand-guiding for teaching and a separate controller with safety and industrial I/O plus Modbus TCP. Optional Intel RealSense vision module. Complies with ISO 10218-1:2011 and EU machinery directives.

Key facts
- Kinova's current technical one-pager (EN, revision modified 2024-10-22, PDF text read) gives: 6 DoF, continuous payload 6.0 kg (full range, 200 mm from the wrist), maximum reach 1149 mm, repeatability within 0.1 mm, joint speed 180 deg/s (joints 1-3) and 300 deg/s (joints 4-6), maximum TCP speed 2.0 m/s, arm weight 23.45 kg with 5 m cable, IP54, 0 to 40 C, 110-240 VAC 50-60 Hz.
- Two Kinova revisions disagree. The current one-pager (kinovarobotics.com/resource/link-6-technical-specifications, PDF modified 2024-10-22) gives reach 1149 mm and TCP speed 2.0 m/s and is the one used here. The older one-pager (kinovarobotics.com/uploads/Kinova_Onepager_Link6_EN_2024.pdf, PDF created 2024-05-30) gives reach 1000 mm and TCP speed 1.85 m/s. Clearpath's store and MyBotShop list reach as 1000 mm (speed 1.65 and 1.9 m/s), matching the older revision. Reach stays in remarks only (the schema has no reach field).
- Controller (separate unit): Intel Core i7, 8 GB DDR4, 128 GB SSD, 17.6 kg, IP54; USB 3.0 and Ethernet; 8 digital in / 8 out, 4 programmable analog I/O, 8 safety in / 8 out, Modbus TCP/IP server.
- Kinova's datasheet does not mention ROS or an SDK, so sdk and ros_support are set to false meaning 'not stated by Kinova', not 'confirmed absent' (the schema allows only true/false). A search result linked Link 6 to the Kortex API, but that page was not a Kinova source and is not used. Link 6 is a different product line from the Gen3 research arm already in the catalog (no successor relationship stated by Kinova).
- Launch year is left empty: the datasheet is dated 2024 (file created October 2024) but states no on-sale date. The photo (datasheet render) shows the arm with a third-party gripper; the gripper is not included.
- Price: Kinova and its Clearpath store sell by quote. The only public number found is Top3DShop's USD 39,500 (with controller and teach pendant); MyBotShop is price on request.
- Image: the Kinova one-pager render is cut off at the bottom by the source file itself (the arm's mounting base is not shown) and shows a third-party gripper; no uncropped official render could be found on kinovarobotics.com, so this is the best official image available.
