Overview
KUKA KMP 1500P diffDrive is a differential-drive autonomous mobile platform that carries up to 1.5 t at up to 1.8 m/s unloaded (1.5 m/s loaded). It navigates with SLAM, reads QR codes with a camera under the platform for +/-5 mm positioning, and detects obstacles with laser scanners and 3D cameras plus a safety bumper. It offers an optional 60 mm lift module, runs up to 10 h on a 2 h charge (20% to 80% in 1 h), is rated IP54 and is run by the KUKA.AMR Fleet no-code navigation software.

KMP 1500P diffDrive |
KUKA (official) |
No public price: the product page offers only a contact and a quotation request via the KUKA Marketplace. A UK reseller page (Parmley Graham, fetched 2026-10-17) also lists no price. The only price-like figures found online are third-party estimates for the smaller KMP 600-S, which do not apply. |
Sensors
- Laser scanners for safe obstacle detection (front and rear)
- 3D cameras (obstacle detection in three-dimensional space)
- Camera under the platform reading QR codes (+/-5 mm positioning)
- On-platform camera for QR load identification
- Safety bumper / safety edge
- 4 emergency stop switches (one at each corner), acoustic and optical signals
Locomotion
wheeled (differential drive), SLAM navigation with QR-code positioning
Use cases
material supply to stations and lines, process linkage between stations, goods-to-person picking, warehousing and point-to-point transport
Key facts
- Official page and product brochure (KUKA_KMP1500P_EN, dated 2024-05-01, fetched 2026-10-17): 1.5 t load capacity, max speed 1.8 m/s without load and 1.5 m/s loaded, optional lift module 60 mm, IP54, QR-code positioning accuracy +/-5 mm, 4 emergency stops, conductive charging with docking station, no special power supply needed (single phase). 1.8 m/s = 6.5 km/h.
- Positioning accuracy: the 5 mm figure is what KUKA's page and brochure state (+/-5 mm); no source seen on any KUKA page gives 10 mm, so 10 mm is not used.
- Runtime conflict: the current KUKA page says '2 hours charge for up to 10 hours of use'; the 2024 brochure says '2 h charge for 8 h of use'. 10 h (current page, 'up to') is used for battery_hours. Both say 20-80 % in 1 hour. The brochure also says inductive charging 'available in 2024'.
- Weight is not published on any KUKA page or brochure found and is left null. Third-party pages disagree: 260 kg (Origin of Bots), 270 kg (Dedemme Katronik) and 290 kg (Synaos). A figure of 260 kg quoted in the task brief could not be matched to a KUKA datasheet.
- Height 26.3 cm is from the dimensions 1,300 x 900 x 263 mm, which three third-party pages agree on (Origin of Bots, Dedemme Katronik, Synaos; none is a KUKA page). Length and width are not recorded in specs because the schema has no field for them.
- Not the same platform as the KMP 600P (payload 600 kg) or the omnidirectional KMP 1500 (2,000 x 800 x 470 mm, 711 kg minimum); no predecessor or successor link is set.
