Overview
Small 6-axis industrial arm from ABB's IRB 1200 next generation (Gen2) family, the 7 kg / 0.7 m reach variant. ABB's July 2025 launch describes it as 20% lighter than the previous generation (weight not confirmed from an ABB document) and lists OmniCore E10, C30, C90XT or V250XT controllers. IP40 is standard; IP67, Foundry Plus 2 and ISO class 4 cleanroom are options. Targeted at high-speed assembly, polishing, dispensing and machine tending in electronics and general industry; mounts on floor, wall or ceiling.

- ABB IRB 1200 next generation page lists four Gen2 variants: 5/0.9, 7/0.7, 8/0.9 and 9/0.7 (payload kg / reach m). This file covers the 7/0.7 Gen2 only.
- Weight and repeatability of the 7/0.7 Gen2 are not recorded: a 42 kg weight seen in a Ballard International copy of an ABB datasheet could not be confirmed in an ABB document on re-check (2026-10-17); the previous generation weighs 52 kg (ABB datasheet 220308) and ABB's Gen2 family page quotes repeatability only as 'down to 0.011 mm' for the family, not for this variant. IP40 standard, IP67 and Foundry Plus 2 options, ISO class 4 cleanroom option and mounting come from the distributor copy of the datasheet and are not confirmed on abb.com.
- Axis working range of the 7/0.7 Gen2 (degrees): A1 -220/+220, A2 -100/+140, A3 -200/+70, A4 -230/+230, A5 -130/+130, A6 -400/+400; max axis speed 360/300/360/500/470/840 deg/s; base 200 x 230 mm (datasheet copy).
- ABB's page quotes 'path repeatability to just 0.03 mm', 'path accuracy down to 0.6 mm' and TCP speeds 'of up to 1600 mm/s, even for multiple robots'; max_speed_ms 1.6 is that quoted figure, not a measured maximum.
- Press release of 14 July 2025 (Automation Magazine): 5% faster cycle time and 20% lighter than the previous generation. The previous-generation IRB 1200-7/0.7 (ABB datasheet 220308, library.e.abb.com) weighed 52 kg with 0.02 mm repeatability, so the catalog treats Gen2 as a new generation; the old model is not in the catalog.
- Operating temperature and power ratings of the Gen2 are not in the fetched sources and are left empty.
